The power of a serial

I was able to experience the effect of a serial (serial story) early on. In havo 4 my Dutch teacher asked me to write a serial story europe email   for the school newspaper. He called me ‘the Yvonne Keuls of the future’ and I lived up to that name. I wrote a serial about alcoholism in the family, not a common subject at a Christian school on the edge of the Veluwe. I stuck my neck out quite a bit.
It was written so realistically that people thought I was drawing on my own experience. Under the last episode I reported that this situation was fictional, because I had too many conversations with concerned teachers. And pitying looks from schoolmates.

My skills were on everyone’s radar and my story had an impact. In no time everyone knew  going forward, that will look like u me and that was quite an achievement for such a big school.

I’m telling you this because that’s the power of a blog series: you increase the chance that people will stay connected and become ambassadors. People want to know what happens next. They look forward to your next article. The conditions for a
